  3. problems and postscript errors associated with imagesetter output.
  4. ANDESITE is a beautiful TrueType display typeface based on Plaza (formerly
  5. called Playboy). This font has uppercase characters, numerals, and
  6. punctuation only. There are numerous alternate swash characters for most
  7. of the characters (11 characters have two alternates). It was created
  8. entirely with Letraset FontStudio 2.0 (release version). There are now
  9. also over 300 kerning pairs. ALTERNATE CHARACTERS-ANDESITE includes many
  10. alternate capitals, and since there is no lowercase character set, I used
  11. the uppercase equivalent for alternates, and the lowercase equivalent for
  12. primary caps. Example: Pressing Shift-A will get you the swash character,
  13. while simply pressing ╥a╙ will get you the primary character. The only
  14. character that doesn't have an alternate is the letter O. Besides these
  15. alternates, several characters have a second alternate as follows:

  23. GO! USERS:DesignStudio and Ready,Set,Go! may not always display and print
  24. special alternate characters in a FontStudio font. Both page-layout
  25. applications default to the standard Symbol characters if the upper
  26. register of ASCII characters is mapped differently from the standard font
  27. map.The solution (using Apple's ResEdit utility) is as follows:1. Launch
  28. ResEdit and open a copy of the DesignStudio (or RSG) application (Never
  29. work on the original!).2. Locate the STR# resource and open it.3. Open
  30. STR# 556.4. Click on the last row of asterisks in the lower left of the
  31. window. A rectangle will appear around the asterisks.5. Select NEW (or
  32. Insert New Field(s) if you are using ResEdit 2.0 or later) from the File
  33. menu and then click the pointer in the new font name entry area that
  34. appears and type the unique font name the unique font name in this area.
  35. You must enter the unique font name exactly. Character for character,
  36. spelling, correct upper and lowercase usage, and spacing between words
  37. is crucial.6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 (always clicking on the current last
  38. row of asterisks) for each font for which you need the special (option or
  39. option-shift) characters properly displayed and printed.7. When you are
  40. done adding all the font names to the program, choose Quit from the File
  41. menu and then click Yes to save the changes.DesignStudio (or RSG) should
  42. now properly display and print the special characters for each font whose
  43. name you've added to the program using this procedure.THIS FONT IS

  61. met: the font must not be modified/changed/altered in any way, and this
  62. READ ME FIRST! file must be included. Companies that distribute shareware
  63. and public domain programs on disks (i.e. Educorp and BMUG) must get
